Are you interested in finding out about high profile cases in
Florida? The Florida Supreme Court has clearly made a commitment to making public information easily accessible to interested parties. At their website, www.floridasupremecourt.org, there is a link called “Public Information.” The link takes you to a page with over 20 additional links to an abundance of information, including High Profile Cases, Court Documents, Court Orders, Death Warrant Cases, Opinions & Rules, Trial Court Statistics, etc.
However, because the most popular part of the “Public Information” page is the High Profile Case section, for the convenience of the users, the first page that loads after clicking on the Public Information link is a list of all current high profile cases. The list is organized by date updated, and it provides the name of the case, a brief description of the case, and a links to the docket and case numbers. For example, the most recently updated high profile case is Florida Bar v. Gary Siplin. Gary Siplin is a Senator who was convicted of a felony in 2006. To the right of the case name and description, users can click on the link for the case number. This link takes you to a list of all briefs, orders, notices, and other documents filed in the case. Below the case number link, there is also a link to the docket. The link to the docket gives a general overview of everything that has been filed in the case, while the link to the case number provides a PDF of the actual document filed.
So, if you are interested in a high profile case, this site makes it simple to access almost any information you may be looking for.
