A newly signed Illinois state law will make it easier for parents to view their child’s driving records by allowing access online. This law will go into effect January 1, 2008. A pilot program for this issue went into effect in the late 1990s when notices were to be sent to registered vehicle owners advising of tickets. This program met with resistence because of the amount of work required and lack of funding from the state. The legislature is hoping the new law will solve this problem given the online access.
