About Public Records in Tennessee

Indiana real and personal property tax records are kept by the County Assessor in each county.
 

Indiana deeds and general document recording are handled by the Register of Deeds in each county. Records kept include deeds, mortgage documents, easements, powers of attorney, and liens.

The Tennessee Office of Vital Records registers and maintains the original certificates of births, deaths, marriages and divorces that occur in Tennessee. Certified copies of the original records are available to the person named on the record and to certain family members or legal representatives.
