Property Tax Records
Pennsylvania real and personal property tax records are kept by the Assessment Office in each county.
Deeds and Document Recording
Pennsylvania deeds and general document recording are handled by the Recorder of Deeds in each county. Larger offices have separate divisions for recording. Records kept include deeds, mortgage documents, easements, powers of attorney, marriage licenses, and liens.
Vital Records
The
Pennsylvania Division of Vital Records maintains records of births and deaths that occurred in Pennsylvania from 1906 to the present. These vital records are not open to public inspection.
