North Dakota Vital Statistics Directory

Vital records include birth, death, marriage, and divorce records. North Dakota birth and death records are managed by the Department of Health Division of Vital Records. Birth records are restricted. As such, they can only be obtained by the registrant if at least 16 years old, the parents, a legal representative, have notarized authorization, or have a court order. Death records are also restricted records and can only be obtained by a relative, an authorized representative, the child fatality review board, or a funeral director reporting the facts of death, or by the order of a court.

Marriage and divorce records are managed by the Clerk of Court in the county where the marriage license was issued or the divorce was decreed.
